Job Title: Business Analyst

Job Duties and Responsibilities In this role, you will analyze business processes and systems, elicit and document requirements from stakeholders, and identify opportunities for improvement, with a primary focus on translating business needs into clear and actionable functional specifications for technical teams. You will collaborate closely with business users and technical teams to effectively define, refine, and manage requirements, ensuring that designed solutions and testing activities are in direct alignment with overarching business objectives through meticulous data analysis and transparent communication. Your work, centered around leveraging comprehensive business analysis methodologies, requirements engineering, and process optimization techniques, is essential to supporting various strategic initiatives and system development projects throughout the business. Proficiency and hands-on experience in detailed business process analysis, requirements elicitation, and functional specification development are mandatory for this position.

Primary Skills

  • Deep expertise in business process analysis and a wide array of requirement elicitation techniques (e.g., interviews, workshops, surveys), enabling the efficient understanding of complex business needs, the identification of critical inefficiencies, and the precise definition of improvement opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of business analysis frameworks and best practices, including robust methods for gathering, analyzing, meticulously documenting, and managing business and functional requirements throughout the entire project and product lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in translating ambiguous and complex business needs into clear, concise, unambiguous, and verifiable functional specifications and technical documentation (e.g., user stories, use cases, process flows, data models), specifically designed to guide technical development and testing teams.
  • Advanced skills in stakeholder management, engagement, and communication (written, verbal, presentation), including effectively acting as a liaison between diverse business units and technical development teams, and clearly explaining complex concepts to varied audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional agile and waterfall teams, ensuring that solution designs accurately meet documented business requirements and strategic objectives, and actively supporting testing and validation activities to confirm solution efficacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills beyond core requirements analysis, with proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools (SQL proficiency is highly valuable) to support empirical findings, data-driven recommendations, and impact assessments.
  • General hands-on experience in business analysis across various project types (e.g., software development, system integration, process improvement) and business domains, including those supporting digital transformation and IT system modernization efforts.
  • In-depth familiarity with the nuances of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various Agile (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and traditional project management methodologies, and practical experience operating within these frameworks to deliver solutions.
  • Broader ability to contribute to project planning, scope definition and management, risk assessment, and change management processes based on thorough business analysis outcomes and stakeholder impact assessments.
  • Experience in developing and delivering end-user documentation, training materials, or workshops to support the successful adoption and utilization of new processes or implemented systems.
  • Excellent and persuasive communication skills extending beyond core requirement documentation, essential for broader stakeholder engagement, negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing decision-making at multiple organizational levels.
