Solution IT Inc. is looking for Business Analyst w/ Oil & Gas for one of its clients in Houston TX / Hybrid

- candidate needs to have a VALID US Passport and able to travel to Brazil twice a year)

Job Title: Business Analyst w/ Oil & Gas

Summary:

Project Development Support

  • Work closely with functional directors, onshore SMEs, and offshore personnel to gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear and concise documentation for project teams and decision-makers.

Support initiatives from concept to approval, including:

  • Business case development
  • ROI analysis
  • Solution research and vendor evaluation
  • RFQ process and vendor selection support
  • Preparing documentation for final project approvals
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
    • Ensure alignment of scope and expectations with leadership, including functional directors and project sponsors.
  • Business Process Analysis
    • Analyze and map existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
    • Design future-state processes with a focus on leveraging technology for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement process improvements and monitor outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with Drilling Contractor experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success supporting business initiatives from ideation to execution.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct ROI analysis and build compelling business cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups - from offshore field staff to executive leadership.
  • Proficient in documenting detailed business and functional requirements, workflows, and use cases.
  • Familiarity with RFQ processes, vendor selection, and project justification.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to ERP systems, digital transformation projects, or operations support platforms.
  • Business Process Modeling (BPMN or equivalent) experience.
  • Understanding of IT project lifecycle and change management principles.
