Business Data Analyst – Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
12-month contract with extension option

The role will bridge business teams and Engineering to drive data-focused initiatives that improve underwriting, analytics, and strategic decision-making. This role gathers and documents data requirements, develops data use cases, and supports the lifecycle of data products that enhance predictive modeling and market insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across Development, Finance, Acquisitions, and Research to understand data needs and translate them into clear technical requirements.

  • Analyze and document data definitions, flows, business rules, and validation criteria.

  • Support the creation of data-driven features and KPIs that strengthen underwriting models and market analysis.

  • Identify patterns, trends, and gaps in existing datasets and ensure accurate data modeling with Engineering.

  • Serve as the liaison between business teams and Engineering, communicating insights and project updates.

  • Participate in end-to-end data product development, including testing, deployment, and optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s a plus).

  • 3–5+ years as a Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or Product Manager with data-heavy products.

  • Strong analytical and requirement-gathering skills; experience documenting complex data needs.

  • SQL proficiency strongly preferred; experience with Tableau/Power BI a plus.

  • Familiarity with real estate development or underwriting is highly beneficial.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skill
