SecuriGence is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer/Analyst to support data reporting and analytics requirements for a federal government program in Washington, DC. The BI Developer will design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau, MicroStrategy, SQL, and Sybase. This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing user requirements, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering actionable insights to support agency mission objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate reporting requirements in alignment with federal program needs.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau and MicroStrategy.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from Sybase and other relational databases.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data used in reporting solutions.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions that support decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with data architects, database administrators, and system engineers to ensure effective data integration.
  • Apply federal data security and compliance standards when handling sensitive information.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, report specifications, and user guides.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analytics support as requested by program leadership.
  • Ensure alignment with ITIL best practices, agency reporting standards, and contractual service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned in support of federal mission objectives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing reports and dashboards using Tableau and/or MicroStrategy.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience working with Sybase or similar RDBMS platforms.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing business requirements for data reporting and visualization solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective BI solutions that drive decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL concepts.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning of SQL queries and optimization of BI reports.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and experience working in a federal contracting environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to deliver high-quality reporting solutions under deadlines.
