Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled C Programmer with strong experience in TXSeries CICS application development. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing, maintaining, and modernizing business-critical applications written in C and deployed on IBM TXSeries with CICS. You will also support the transition of legacy systems to hybrid cloud or cloud-native platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift and HCI environments.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze, maintain, and enhance C-based applications using EXEC CICS commands.
Work with TXSeries CICS region configuration and understand transaction flows.
Recompile and optimize legacy C applications for modern Linux platforms.
Containerize and replatform transactional applications.
Migrate CICS business logic to microservices or API-based architectures.
Collaborate with architects, DBAs, and MQ teams to support end-to-end transaction workflows.
Implement logging, observability, and CI/CD pipelines for CICS-based applications.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with C programming.
Proven expertise in TXSeries / CICS on AIX, Linux, or Windows.
Proficiency in CICS commands (e.g., EXEC CICS SEND, LINK, RETURN).
Experience integrating with DB2, Oracle, or VSAM.
Familiarity with IBM MQ or similar messaging tools.
Understanding of transactional systems, syncpoints, and CICS error handling.
(Optional/Nice to Have) Exposure to COBOL.
