Role: CAE Optimization Engineer (Mid-Level)
Location: Newark, CA - Onsite
Expenses: Official travel may be reimbursed
Purpose & Impact
NVH, crash, durability, and manufacturing by applying advanced CAE optimization techniques to reduce mass, enhance performance, and guide design decisions. You'll contribute to both current and future vehicle platforms.
Responsibilities
Set up and execute structural optimizations (design space, constraints, objectives, etc.)
Interpret results and propose manufacturable solutions
Perform subsystem and full-vehicle level optimization (stiffness, stress, mass)
Apply multi-domain and multi-material optimization strategies
Use tools like OptiStruct, NASTRAN, Hyperworks, BetaCAE
Collaborate cross-functionally to balance performance across attributes
Provide design guidance during concept phases
Script in Python or TCL (a plus)
Candidate Profile
Bachelor's (or higher) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Minimum 4 years of experience, with 1 2 years in optimization
Strong FEA fundamentals and CAE optimization knowledge
Familiar with OptiStruct/NASTRAN, Hyperworks, BetaCAE
Enthusiastic, quick learner, problem solver, and team collaborator
