Job Summary & Job Duties

JOB SUMMARY:
The CNC Machinist II is responsible for performing setups and operating CNC machines with moderate supervision. This role focuses on executing routine to moderately complex machining operations, including editing G-code programs, conducting in-process inspections, and performing basic troubleshooting. The Machinist II ensures part quality and production efficiency while maintaining a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards. This role also supports team effectiveness by communicating with colleagues and engineers on production issues and may assist in training less experienced machinists.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform simple to moderate setups and operate CNC machines independently
Edit G-code programs as needed for tool offsets and part quality adjustments
Conduct first piece and in-process inspections
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
Maintains a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S standards

Minimum Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: 2-3 years of CNC machining experience, including simple setup and operation
Expertise in blueprint reading and advanced GD&T application.
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, including basic GD&T concepts
Knowledge of G-code programming adjustments and tooling
Skilled in precision measurements and quality inspections
Ability to receive feedback and respond effectively to instructions
Effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, and engineers to discuss production issues
Ability to provide informal training to less experienced machinists

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred: Technical certification in machining or manufacturing
Preferred Experience: Experience in both CNC milling and turning environments
Sub-spindle machining experience or Swiss machining experience is a plus
