Job Title: Career Coach/Case Manager
Locations: Columbus (Bartholomew County), Indiana

Position Summary

The Career Coach/Case Manager is responsible for managing a caseload of program participants and supporting them through employment readiness, job placement, and job retention. This role provides individualized counseling, develops employment plans, tracks progress, and connects participants with community resources and employers to help them achieve self-sufficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Counseling

  • Manage a caseload of participants and provide work-readiness counseling and mentoring.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meeting focused on job search, job readiness, education, and job retention.
  • Assess participant competencies, work history, skills, and barriers to employment, guide participants toward effective solutions.
  • Complete individualized service overviews and develop short- and long-term employment plans.

Employment Support & Resource Coordination

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local employers, community resources, and support services.
  • Facilitate participant access to training, education programs, and employment opportunities.
  • Provide participants with information on advancement-focused jobs and training pathways.

Progress Tracking & Accountability

  • Monitor participant attendance, accountability, and employment retention metrics.
  • Maintain scheduled contact with participants at community locations to monitor job retention and advancement.
  • Notify relevant government agencies promptly when a participant loses employment or has reduced work hours.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate participant records both electronic and paper documenting program history and supportive services provided.
  • Ensure compliance with program requirements throughout the participant s journey, from referral to job retention and advancement.

Outcome Ownership

  • Take central responsibility for guiding participants toward employment and long-term self-sufficiency.
  • Track progress through the full program cycle and adjust service plans as needed.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Associate s degree from an accredited college/university OR minimum 12 months of related work experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Availability for frequent local travel.
  • Familiarity with community-based services and resources.

Preferred

  • 1 3 years of experience in workforce development, career coaching, case management, or similar programs.
  • Knowledge of the local labor market, employers, and training providers.
  • Experience working with government-funded programs (WIOA, TANF, SNAP, etc.).
