Title: Chief Technology Officer - CTO
Location: Hybrid Onsite Dallas 4 days/week
Duration: Full Time
Compensation: $180,000 - $220,000

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to define and execute the vision for enterprise technology strategy during a period of significant growth and transformation. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with executive leadership, overseeing infrastructure, networking, security, and application development across a multi-site environment.
The CTO will inherit a growing technical team, supported by a consulting VP of IT through the transition, and will be responsible for driving modernization, scaling systems, and ensuring operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute the enterprise technology roadmap, balancing infrastructure, networking, security, and applications.
- Infrastructure Modernization: Guide the migration from on-premise systems to a modern data center environment; oversee virtualization, storage, VDI, and disaster recovery.
- Networking & Security: Provide senior leadership on network design and security operations, with responsibility for Juniper networks, Palo Alto firewalls, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Application Development Oversight: Lead and support the internal application development team working on proprietary low-code platforms. Advance DevOps practices to improve delivery and integration.
- M&A/Expansion Integration: Direct the technical integration of new sites and users (~400+ users with continued growth).
- Executive Collaboration: Partner with leadership to ensure technology initiatives align with strategic goals and stakeholder priorities.
- Team Building & Vendor Management: Build and mentor internal teams while managing external partners and MSPs.
- Business Enablement: Act as a hands-on leader with the ability to navigate organizational politics, influence outcomes, and secure stakeholder adoption.
Current Tech Stack
- Cloud: Azure (user environment)
- Virtualization: VMware ESXi (6/7), VDI (no physical laptops)
- Storage: VxRail, SAN/VSAN
- Networking & Security: Juniper (recent migration from Meraki); Palo Alto firewalls
- Operating Systems: Microsoft Server 2025; Linux (being introduced)
- Disaster Recovery: Kolo
- Applications: Proprietary low-code platforms
Required Qualifications
- 15-25 years of progressive IT experience with leadership across infrastructure, networking, and application development.
- Deep expertise in networking and security, with strong knowledge of virtualization, VDI, and storage technologies.
- Proven track record modernizing IT environments, driving hybrid cloud adoption, and leading integrations.
- Ability to operate as both a hands-on technologist and a strategic leader.
- Experience managing internal teams and external vendors/partners.
- Must be able to work on-site 3-4 days per week in Plano.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience as CTO in a small/mid-sized organization or VP/Director reporting to C-level in a larger enterprise.
- Exposure to high-compliance or high-security environments.
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms and DevOps practices.
- Strong communication skills with a business-friendly, collaborative leadership style
