The Opportunity:

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy, development, and operations. The CTO will be instrumental in augmenting and scaling our technology platform, driving innovation in automation and AI, and ensuring the highest levels of security and compliance in the sensitive financial data we handle. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong technical background, a deep understanding of fintech, and a passion for using technology to solve complex financial challenges. This job is fully remote.

CTO Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the technology strategy aligned with the company's business goals and market positioning in B2B2C and B2C.
  • Lead and mentor the engineering and technology teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, test-driven development, and excellence.
  • Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of our core technology platform built with TypeScript, React, Vite, Node.js, Fastify, and PostgreSQL using MikroORM ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Ensure platform security, performance, and resilience using Cloudflare for edge protection and performance optimization, and CrowdStrike for endpoint and threat detection.
  • Ensure customer security and privacy by implementing authentication and data protection through Auth0, Firebase, and Skyflow.
  • Spearhead the research, development, and integration of AI and machine learning models for enhanced analytics, predictive capabilities, and personalized user interactions.
  • Drive automation across all aspects of debt recovery and credit rebuilding, leveraging appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to test-driven development with Jest, Playwright, and Vitest.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines, currently run through GitHub and AWS App Runner.
  • Ensure the security, privacy, and compliance of all technology systems and data, adhering to financial regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and SOC2 compliance standards.
  • Evaluate and select technologies, tools, and vendors, including those for customer engagement and data insights like Customer.io, PostHog, and related tools.
  • Use VSCode as the standard development environment across the team.
  • Collaborate closely with product, operations, marketing, and sales teams to ensure technology effectively supports business functions and market needs.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology trends, particularly in fintech, AI, and automation. Represent the company's technology vision to investors, partners, and the public.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a CTO or in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within the fintech industry.
  • Experience in financial services is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and scaling technology platforms for both B2B2C and B2C markets.
  • Strong expertise in automation technologies and a track record of implementing automated processes.
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts and experience in integrating AI solutions into products.
  • Deep knowledge of software development methodologies, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and data management.
  • Experience with ensuring data security, privacy, and compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business strategies.
