Job Description:
Role: Claims Data Analyst
Duration: 1 year contract, potential for hire
Location: Remote
Part-time (up to 35 hours/week, flexible hours)

Position background
What does this position accomplish for the business? Coding and data analysis for high priority value-based care projects
Please describe the team the candidate will be working with (number of team members break-down of the teams skill sets team culture etc.).
There are 4 other team members consisting of analysts and scientists that the candidate would partner with
What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position (please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis)?
Develop new and maintain existing SAS programs to extract, aggregate, and manipulate pharmacy and medical claims for analyses to support ad hoc data requests
Participate in interpretation of business requirements and creation of technical specifications including data dictionaries and programming specs
Perform statistical analysis, and generate reports to answer research questions
Perform quality control checks on code, data sets, analytic outputs, research manuscripts and other deliverables
What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background specific industry experience etc.)?
Bachelors and/or masters degree in health services research, health economics, biostatistics, computer science, epidemiology, sociology, psychology or equivalent)
3+ years experience programming in SAS (including proc SQL)
3+ years experience supporting health services, health economics, and outcomes research
What skills/attributes are required (please be detailed as to number of years of experience for each skill)? What skills/attributes are preferred (what will set a candidate apart)?
3+ years experience with administrative claims data, EHR/EMR data, or complex relational health care databases required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using large administrative claims assets from health plan/payers
