Job Details
The Cloud & Infrastructure Architect will lead solution design, sizing, and accelerator development across on-prem and cloud environments, with a primary focus on Azure and a strong preference for AWS experience in multi-cloud scenarios. You will design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-optimized solutions, build reusable deployment accelerators, and drive governance and best practices for clients in the healthcare and technology sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture, Solutioning & Sizing
Lead end-to-end architecture for complex on-prem and cloud solutions, with Azure as the primary platform and AWS as the preferred secondary cloud.
Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and cost-effective architectures.
Conduct detailed assessments of business and workload requirements and accurately size compute, storage, networking, and related resources.
Use cloud cost estimation and planning tools to model, estimate, and optimize resource usage and spend.
Accelerators, IaC & Automation
Design, build, and maintain deployment accelerators, templates, and frameworks to standardize and streamline on-prem and cloud deployments.
Develop reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates) and automation frameworks.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for infrastructure and application deployments using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
Cloud Governance, Security & Compliance
Implement and enforce governance for resource usage, access control, tagging, and compliance.
Apply cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, network security, and monitoring.
Ensure architectures align with relevant regulations and frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2) particularly for healthcare and technology clients.
Optimization, Operations & Stakeholder Management
Monitor and assess performance and cost of deployed solutions; recommend and implement optimizations for cost savings and performance improvements.
Manage cloud budgets and drive cost optimization using cloud-native tools and techniques.
Provide thought leadership on cloud technologies, patterns, and solution strategies to internal teams and client stakeholders.
Present architectures and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences; produce high-quality documentation, sizing guidelines, and best practices.
Experience:
15+ years overall in infrastructure / on-prem environments.5+ years hands-on experience in cloud environments, with strong depth in Azure.
Architecture & Multi-Cloud:
Proven experience designing and delivering solutions across on-prem and cloud (Azure as primary; AWS strongly preferred as secondary multi-cloud platform).Demonstrated ability to map complex business problems to appropriate services and architectures.Sizing & Cost Optimization:
Strong track record in accurately sizing workloads and infrastructure.Experience using cloud cost estimation and monitoring tools, with practical strategies for cost optimization.IaC, Automation & DevOps:
Hands-on experience creating reusable IaC templates (Terraform, ARM, etc.) and automation frameworks.Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) for infrastructure and application deployment.Azure Expertise:
Deep experience with Azure compute, storage, networking, and database services (e.g., VMs, Blob Storage, virtual networking, managed databases).Comfortable leveraging Azure-native services and tools for deployment, security, observability, and automation.Security & Compliance:
Strong understanding of IAM concepts, key management, encryption, network security, and security monitoring in cloud environments.
Experience designing for or operating under compliance regimes such as HIPAA, GDPR, and SOC 2.- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to interface credibly with CXO and senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical debt, cost, and scalability.
