Cobol Programmer Analyst

What does a great Senior Application Analyst do?
Develop solutions to support functions & meet project objectives, client requirements, and company goals.
Communicate with clients, business & IT on design strategies and collaboration throughout life cycle.
Adherence to standards & consults with Sr. managers on solutions.
Responsible for assigning resources & delegating tasks.
Possesses strong knowledge of application, tools, methodologies & functional areas.
Expert in mainframe technologies, to include COBOL, JCL, DB2, CA7, and VSAM.
Supports business apps and responsible for leading disaster recovery.
Works on highly complex projects & issues. Good understanding of how technology relates to business, market & industry and applies knowledge to support the needs of Fiserv.
Interpret payment industry requirements into business technical requirements, understanding relationships and impacts.

Job Responsibilities
Consults with project teams and functional units on the design of important projects or services. Supports existing business systems applications. Performs additional job duties as required.
Works on moderate to complex projects and issues within functional area. Coaches and leads less experienced IT staff and business managers.
Support will include analysis, development, testing, break-fix, and on-call duties as needed.

Job Requirements:
5+ yrs. of related IT experience in the cards and payments industry preferred
Bachelor s Degree in Engineering and Technology or equivalent work experience.
Expert in multiple languages and tools.
Experience with JAVA, C, C++, VBA is a plus.
Some knowledge in emerging technologies.
Possesses strong knowledge of application development technologies, tools and methodologies.
Strong understanding of complex internal business processes or functions. Competencies - IT Architecture
Motivated self-starter works well independently, but ability to also work well in a team environment
Demonstrates professional behavior under pressure
Ability to resolve complex and diverse issues by identifying underlying or hidden problems and patterns
Clear understanding of end-to-end application delivery in a multi-platform environment (mainframe, client server, web).
Knowledgeable and experienced in the full Software Development Life Cycle and Testing Methodologies.
Must be meticulous in creating high quality, high value deliverables
Ability to write technical design documentation in clear and understandable fashion
Possess well developed communication skills oral, written, listening. Good analytical and negotiation skills, and close attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and stay well organized
Must have strong collaboration skills
