Our client is a leading organization in the technology sector, specializing in the design, implementation, and management of advanced communication networks. They are seeking a highly skilled Communications Network Engineer Senior to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network evaluation, troubleshooting, and administration, with a focus on large-scale, complex network systems.

Location: Quantico, VA

Pay: $70 - $80 an hour W2

This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity, where applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to full-time employment following the contract duration. Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate communication hardware and software to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Local Area Networks (LAN), Base Area Networks (BAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
  • Administer and maintain LAN/BAN/WANs to ensure network reliability and security.
  • Plan and execute network conversions and cutovers, minimizing downtime and disruption.
  • Coordinate with users and sites to ensure seamless network integration and operation.
  • Perform configuration and performance tuning of networks to meet organizational needs.
  • Integrate and test complex, large-scale computer-integrated networks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in network technology.


Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on LAN/BAN/WAN systems.
  • Proven experience in the performance and configuration of complex network systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and test large-scale computer-integrated networks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in resolving network-related issues.
  • Experience in coordinating network activities with multiple stakeholders.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field of study.

Additional Certification Requirements:
  • Must possess an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) network support certification, such as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).


Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
