Job Details

For initial 6 months it will be 5 days a week work from office and post 6 months it will be 4 days a week depending on performance.

10% domestic travel possibilities.

Primary Function of Position

Execute and complete part qualification deliverables.

Perform investigation and root cause analysis for non-conformances of purchased components. Collaborate with suppliers to determine and execute corrective and preventative actions.

Essential Job Duties

Execute and complete part qualification deliverables with suppliers that include: First Article Inspection Report, Inspection Plan, Capacity Study, Inspection Correlation, Process FMEA, Control Plan, Gage R&R, Process Capability, and Process Validation.

Investigate, analyze, close, and prevent recurrence of non-conformances for purchased components from suppliers.

Collaborate with suppliers to improve component quality and process capability, and to identify and execute capacity improvements.

Required Skills and Experience

Basic understanding of process capability and process performance.

Familiarity with Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (pFMEA).

Knowledge and understanding of GD&T in detailed mechanical drawings to understand symbols, their meaning, and application regarding manufacturing and inspection.

Basic understanding of machine milling/turning, and plastic molding processes.

Bonus for knowledge of casting and PCB manufacturing processes.

Basic understanding of inspection tools, such as calipers/micrometers, pin/ring gauges, vision systems, and CMMs.

Strong and persistent curiosity for solving technical problems in component manufacturing and inspection within our cross-functional engineering team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent ability to handle challenging technical and interpersonal situations with suppliers and internal customers.

Notable computer experience using Microsoft Office suite, Product Lifecycle Management software (e.g. Agile), and ERP software (e.g. SAP).

Required Education and Training

BS degree in Engineering or equivalent, Master s degree preferred.

2-5 years of related experience in Supplier Engineering or Quality Engineering.

Preferred to have experience at a medical device company or capital equipment company in a different industry.
