Computer Aided Design Technician

The Computer Aided Design position works closely with members of the Manufacturing Support Department by creating and interrogating three-dimensional models of aircraft components and two-dimensional drawings of Model Based Parts. This position will also coordinate with process planning on material sizing requirements as needed. This is NOT a remote position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
3D Modeling of parts in Solidworks
2D Drafting of Model Based Parts (Catia to Solidworks)
Design Tooling for Manufacturing applications
3D Printing of models (FDM) for demonstration, display and fixturing
Create process assist drawings for production, quoting, packaging and finish needs
Communicates with customer where required
Initiate technical inquiries with customers when required
Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Associates Degree or higher in Drafting & Design, Engineering Technology, or related field at least 2 years.
Knowledge of manufacturing materials
Strong blueprint reading skills
Working knowledge of Solidworks is required
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of CATIA is preferred
Prior manufacturing or shop floor experience preferred
