Job Details

Role Title: Hardware Maintenance and Testing Technician - Senior

Location: Austin, Texas

Duration: 12+ months contract

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a motivated self-starter to configure and maintain test hardware and infrastructure across multiple mobile, desktop, and workstation systems. This position involves ensuring systems are up to date, executing test plans, tracking results, and quickly troubleshooting any issues that arise to minimize downtime. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems to drive system-level quality. The ability to communicate issues clearly and provide accurate details for quick resolution is critical. If you excel at managing priorities under pressure and taking initiative without constant direction, this role is a great fit.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

2+ years of PC validation/testing or motherboard debugging and troubleshooting experience.

Soldering experience preferred

Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving hardware issues quickly.

Solid understanding of PC x86 architecture and system-level knowledge of subsystems: Memory, PCI-E, USB, SATA, Ethernet, Processor, and Chipset.

Install and configure PC hardware components (processors, storage drives, graphics cards, memory, network cards).

Set up and maintain BIOS configurations, device drivers, and system-level applications.

Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.

Comfortable with Linux command line for system configuration and automation.

Experience with x86 software configuration and modification.

Execute test plans and maintain test farm infrastructure to ensure system readiness.

Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, schematics, and PC layouts.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills; able to clearly document test results and report issues.

Good organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Quick learner, able to adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes.

Demonstrates enthusiasm, team spirit, and proactive problem-solving.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for issue reporting and documentation
