#1920 Construction Estimator/Project Manager (Restoration, Concrete, Masonry)

We are seeking an experienced Restoration Estimator Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for facade/concrete restoration projects, analyzing project plans and specifications, and collaborating with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive bids. Additionally, the candidate will take on project management responsibilities to oversee the successful execution of restoration projects.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

    • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and proposals to determine accurate cost estimates.
    • Prepare quantity takeoffs, analyze subcontractor bids, and develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on project scope and requirements.
    • Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and the project management team to ensure a clear understanding of the project scope and requirements.
    • Evaluate project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential cost overruns.
    • Prepare and present cost estimates and detailed project budgets to management and clients for commercial construction projects.
    • Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and vendors to secure the best value for the company and clients
    • Continuously monitor industry trends, materials, and labor costs to ensure accurate estimates.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation of estimates, change orders, and project revisions.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of company-wide cost estimation processes and best practices.
    • Managing assigned restoration projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with projects, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Monitoring project progress, tracking project cost, and identifying potential risk or issues that may impact outcomes.

 

Education Required:

  • Minimum education level of a bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field

 

Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction cost estimation with a focus on restoration projects.
  • Building Envelope Systems- understanding of various façade systems and materials such as masonry, concrete, stone, curtain walls, windows, and roofing.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices, as well as applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of historic preservation principles and techniques
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • A high degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

 

Technology:

  • Project Management & Estimating Software- Any program such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet that helps manage tasks, timelines, and resources
  • Blueprint and Document Management- Bluebeam, Procore
  • Communication Tools- Microsoft Teams, Zoom
  • Microsoft Office Suite- Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • PDF Editing Software- Adobe Acrobat or a similar program is essential for document creation and editing

 

Work Environment: Office-based environment
