Job Description:
- We build and maintain Policy and Standards for how the company prepares for and responds to events and incidents, both proactively and reactively, such as collisions, physical security events, adverse weather, civil unrest, cybersecurity, etc. In addition, we build and maintain an event taxonomy that uses various intake sources to map to triggers and response decisions and actions, clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders across the business. As an enterprise function, we work closely with many cross-functional partners, including Operations, Physical Security, Product and Engineering, Legal, and Communications.
Responsibilities:
- Write policy, standards, and response plans for the various types of events and incidents client can expect to encounter.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and clearly define their Roles & Responsibilities related to response plans, and to roll out change management plans as new processes are defined.
- Work closely with technical writers to refine and structure documentation in the client standardized why, including uploading and managing them in the appropriate document management system.
- Align all work and standards to the client event taxonomy, making suggested revisions as needed to ensure intake and trigger points are clearly defined and mapped to the appropriate response actions.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in technical, policy, or procedure writing.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives, technical teams, and customers. Clear and concise technical and policy writing is crucial for minimizing errors and accelerating adoption.
- Research: Curiosity and an ability to read, summarize, tailor, and apply external technical standards to company specific format and application. Must be able to integrate or harmonize different industry standards and determine a best fit solution.
- Problem-solving: Ability to quickly identify the root cause of incidents and develop effective solutions under pressure, demonstrating strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Collaboration: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to coordinate efforts, share information, and foster a unified response across various teams and stakeholders.
- Office Productivity Software: Strong familiarity with Docs, Sheets, Slides (or equivalent).
- Familiarity with document management systems (like AODocs) a plus.
