Location: Hybrid onsite in Orlando, FL or Pittsburgh, PA
Duration: Contract to Hire
Rate Range: $60-90 per hour max depending on skills and experience

This role is ideal for someone who can drive strategic conversations around compliance, analyze alert patterns, and collaborate with technical teams to optimize rule configurations-without needing to be hands-on with backend implementation.

Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned AML Functional Analyst with deep expertise in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance and hands-on experience using Actimize. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a functional SME (Subject Matter Expert) in AML compliance, guiding discussions and decisions from a regulatory and operational perspective.
- Analyze Actimize alerts to identify root causes of high alert volumes and propose solutions to reduce false positives and optimize thresholds.
- Collaborate with development teams to define and refine Actimize rules, explaining the rationale behind rule setups and expected outcomes.
- Provide insights into AML scenarios and recommend rule adjustments to improve detection accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance objectives are met without unnecessary technical overhead.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving AML monitoring effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in AML compliance and functional analysis within financial services.
- Hands-on experience as a user of Actimize, with strong understanding of its rule logic and alerting mechanisms.
- Ability to interpret and explain rule configurations and their impact on alert generation.
- Strong analytical skills to assess alert volumes and recommend actionable improvements.
- Experience with data mapping is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in AML.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and translate functional needs into actionable development tasks.
