Build the Future
At McGraw Hill, we are dedicated to delivering digital learning experiences that transform education for learners and educators. Our focus is on creating seamless, impactful products that truly benefit our users while supporting growth and collaboration across teams. We foster a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and a balance between career growth and personal well-being.

How can you make an impact?

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Architect to support enterprise data initiatives by designing, documenting, and enhancing our modern data architecture. This role is responsible for maintaining data models, applying governance best practices, and enabling analytics through structured, scalable, and trusted data solutions using platforms such as Databricks, Oracle, and Power BI. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and technical skills, including expert SQL proficiency, and can clearly communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

This individual will thrive in cross-functional environments, collaborating with teams across the organization and contributing to a wide range of initiatives. They will dive deep into complex data assets, applying advanced analytical techniques to uncover meaningful insights that guide strategic, data-driven decision-making about what to build and why, all while continuously expanding their knowledge in an evolving data landscape.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

How can you make an Impact?
  • Conduct end-to-end data analysis to identify quality issues, uncover insights, and inform architectural and pipeline improvements.
  • Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold), ensuring clean data flow, proper modeling, and alignment with governance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable, actionable data solutions.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, data pipelines, dimensional/Kimball models, semantic models, and architectural diagrams.
  • Support ingestion and transformation using Databricks, Python, Informatica IICS, and Oracle databases.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations in Tableau and Power BI to enable self-service analytics.
  • Maintain metadata, lineage, and data catalogs while mentoring junior analysts and promoting data quality and performance best practices.

What You Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, reporting, SQL, and ELT/ETL tools (Informatica, Alteryx), with strong ability to perform deep data analysis using SQL and Python.
  • 5+ years of expertise with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI (including modeling, DAX, visuals).
  • Extensive experience in data modeling, designing database structures, ERDs, and applying Kimball-style dimensional modeling.
  • 3+ years of cloud experience (AWS, OCI) and hands-on work with Databricks, Lakehouse architecture, and big data formats like Parquet/Delta.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle databases, relational modeling, and Oracle SaaS applications (ERP/HCM preferred).
  • Familiarity with data governance, cataloging, metadata management, and integrating data from tools such as Informatica, Alteryx, and Salesforce.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience in EdTech/SaaS environments and analyzing data from platforms like Pendo, Google Analytics, or Adobe.
