Job Description
The Training Manager is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive training programs to elevate mechanical and electrical technicians into data center operators. Key duties include creating scalable training materials (SOPs, e-learning modules, hands-on workshops) focused on electrical, mechanical, controls, and programmatic knowledge. The role involves partnering with operational leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify skill gaps and integrate new technologies into the workspace. The Training Manager will monitor industry trends to keep training content current, incorporate third-party training such as NFPA 70E and thermography, and conduct tabletop and walkthrough drills to enhance operational preparedness. Additionally, the role includes auditing training retention and analyzing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data to inform annual training plan development.

- Partner with operational leaders to identify skill and knowledge gaps and develop targeted solutions to support the transition of technicians into operator roles.
- Create scalable training materials, including SOPs, e-learning modules, and hands-on workshops, to build competencies in electrical, mechanical, controls, and programmatic knowledge required for data center operations.
- Monitor industry trends and changes in data center operations to ensure training materials remain current and relevant.
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify new technologies for integration into the workspace and incorporate them into training programs.
- Identify specific third-party training, such as NFPA 70E and thermography, to include in the curriculum to enhance technical skills and ensure compliance.
- Conduct audits of training retention to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and ensure long-term knowledge application by data center staff.
- Administer tabletop and walkthrough drills to reinforce training objectives, simulate operational scenarios, and enhance preparedness for data center operations.
- Assist in Data Center Assessments
- Collaborate with Oracle EHS to augment Safety programs
- Audit Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and other Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data to identify trends and gaps, using insights to support the development of the annual training plan.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in training management, program development, or operational excellence roles.
- 8+ years in a critical facility or data center environment.
- Strong analytical skills to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Familiarity with developing SOPs or training content at scale is highly desirable.
