Data Engineer Manager (AWS) - Remote
My client is looking for a hands-on and passionate Data Engineer Manager to lead a talented team building scalable, cloud-native data platforms on AWS. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity for someone who loves mentoring engineers, driving innovation, and delivering meaningful data solutions.

About the Role:
You'll lead a talented team of data engineers in designing, building, and delivering scalable, cloud-native data solutions. You'll work closely with product, architecture, and data science teams to build efficient pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses - all while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning!
What You'll Do:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing data engineering team.
- Build and oversee cloud data pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses on AWS.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex data challenges.
- Manage the entire data solution lifecycle-from architecture and development to deployment and operation.
- Work with Python, SQL, and AWS tools like Redshift, Glue, EMR, S3, and Kinesis.
- Champion best practices for data engineering, security, and cost optimization.
- Stay up to date on AWS and data technology developments; evaluate and implement new tools as needed.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure high engineering standards.
- Communicate project progress and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software/data engineering.
- 3+ years managing and mentoring technical teams.
- Proven expertise with AWS cloud data solutions.
- Proficient with Python, SQL, Spark, Kafka, Redshift, and Glue.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and streaming data architectures.
- Experienced with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
