Job Description:
- A skilled Data Engineer to join the Cloud FinOps team. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and analytical solutions that provide visibility into cloud spend, enable cost optimization, and support financial governance for our cloud infrastructure. Data Engineer will collaborate closely with Cloud Engineers, Finance, and Product teams to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights on cloud usage and cost trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store cloud billing, usage, and cost data from providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Data Modeling & ETL: Develop robust ETL/ELT processes and data models to ensure clean, reliable, and performant datasets for reporting and analytics.
- Automation & Optimization: Automate cost data collection, tagging enforcement, and cost allocation processes to support continuous cost visibility and optimization.
- Analytics & Insights: Partner with FinOps analysts to build dashboards, reports, and forecasting models in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to monitor cost trends and anomalies.
- Collaboration: Work with Cloud Engineering and Finance to develop KPIs, alerts, and recommendations for right-sizing, reserved instance coverage, and waste reduction.
- Data Governance: Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with security and financial reporting standards.
