Job Details

Mindbank Consulting Group has an immediate need for a Senior Data Modeler to support our federal client in advancing species management and conservation initiatives. This is a 100% onsite role from day one; no exceptions can be made. Preferred location is Falls Church, VA; consideration will be made to those who prefer Fort Collins, CO. The salary range is $120,000 - $125,000 per year and is based on each candidate s professional experience and skills.

    This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data and software development. You ll be responsible for designing and maintaining enterprise data models while also bringing the versatility to work with developers, DevOps engineers, and analysts on a legacy system newly migrated to the cloud.

    Responsibilities/Qualifications:

    • or US Permanent Resident.
    • At least six years of professional, recent data modeling experience.
    • Expertise in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models.
    • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience.
    • SQL and/or PL/SQL expert.
    • RDBMS platforms (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, Teradata, DB2 / UDB).
    • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
    • Experience working with dimensionally modeled data.
    • Experience in translating/mapping relational data models into XML and Schemas.
    • Data analysis and modeling tools (e.g. Power Designer, ERWin, ER/Studio).
    • Knowledge of the mathematical foundations of statistical inference and forecasting such as time series analysis, multivariate analysis, cluster analysis, and optimization.
    • Ability to quickly learn and adapt modeling methods from case studies or other proven approaches.
    • Software Development (Java) experience is preferred
    • Ability to utilize Business Intelligence tools to represent insights, create reports.
    • Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Visio experience.
    • Cloud computing is a plus.
