Job Title: Data Modeler / SQL & Oracle Database Support Specialist- W2 Only
Location: Blythewood, SC
Duration: One Year contract

IRG Clients is seeking a skilled Data Modeler with strong SQL Server and Oracle DBA expertise to join our database engineering team. This role will focus on creating, maintaining, and documenting data models while also providing production database support. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with ERwin Data Modeler and a solid background in Oracle 19c and/or SQL Server 2019/2022 administration.

You will work in a collaborative team of six database engineers and administrators, partnering closely with application architects, developers, business analysts, and server support staff. This position may require occasional after-hours work to support production needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain logical and physical data models using ERwin.
  • Conduct current state assessments of existing ERwin models and produce detailed reports.
  • Perform reverse and forward engineering of database structures.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, model documentation, and version-controlled repositories.
  • Identify and resolve data integrity, consistency, and duplication issues; provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with architects, DBAs, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into optimized data models.
  • Ensure database designs support scalability, integrity, and performance goals.
  • Support data governance and compliance initiatives through effective data modeling practices.
  • Provide weekly progress updates and deliver a final summary report at project closeout.
  • Perform Oracle and SQL Server production support activities, including ticket resolution, version and security updates, backup/restore, and monitoring tasks.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of professional experience in data modeling with Erwin (or equivalent tools).
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c DBA and/or SQL Server 2019/2022 administration.

Preferred Skills

  • SQL Server DBA Certification.
  • Experience with DD Boost for Oracle backup/restore operations.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Grid Control and ASM (Automatic Storage Management).
