Data Modernization Director

Introduction:

The Data Modernization Director will provide general oversight and direction to the agency in its projects funded under the CDC Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG), specifically under Strategy A3: Data Modernization. This role involves overseeing various projects aimed at modernizing data systems and processes within the agency to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of project timelines
  • Provide support to project leaders as needed
  • Communicate effectively with agency staff supporting the projects
  • Maintain focus on project goals and deadlines
  • Develop a team of support staff to assist in data modernization projects

Requirements:

Required:

  • Experience overseeing all aspects of multi-faceted data management and modernization projects
  • Effective communication skills with coworkers involved in data collection and management
  • Knowledge of data and IT security standards related to protected health information
  • Working knowledge of data management tools and systems
  • Experience working with vendors of data management software

Preferred:

  • Experience working with government entities on data projects
  • Experience with federal grant reporting and management
