Job Title: Databricks Engineer W2 Contract Dallas, TX(Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Databricks Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions on the Databricks platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in big data engineering, cloud platforms, and advanced analytics with a passion for solving complex data challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks (PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake).

Implement and manage data lakehouse architectures for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

Optimize data pipelines for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.

Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across pipelines and storage.

Automate workflows and orchestration using Databricks Jobs, Workflows, or Airflow.

Integrate Databricks with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), APIs, and streaming platforms (Kafka, Event Hub, Pub/Sub).

Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications


Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

10+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 5+ years on Databricks.

Strong proficiency in PySpark, SparkSQL, and Python/Scala.

Hands-on experience with Delta Lake, Data Lakehouse, and cloud-native data services (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, Google Cloud Platform Storage).

Solid understanding of SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Git-based workflows.

Familiarity with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hub, Pub/Sub).


Preferred Qualifications

Databricks or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

Knowledge of machine learning workflows within Databricks.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
