Prysmian Group is seeking a people-oriented and change management champion to support our Energy business. In your new role, you will be reporting to the Director, NA Cable Design - Energy for a position located in our Highland Heights, KY office and will be integral to the continued success as well as the future growth of our customers. Your role will interact with the business, plants and customers in order to understand the requirements for the products and our ability to produce as well as manage personnel handling various plants and centrally controlled in Highland Heights.

Prysmian Group is seeking a people-oriented and change management champion to support our Energy business. In your new role, you will be reporting to the Director, NA Cable Design - Energy for a position located in our Highland Heights, KY office and will be integral to the continued success as well as the future growth of our customers. Your role will interact with the business, plants and customers in order to understand the requirements for the products and our ability to produce as well as manage personnel handling various plants and centrally controlled in Highland Heights.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage workload/activities of 4 personnel supporting the plants assigned to the business unit.
- Develop procedures, workflows, training, and onboarding to maintain a productive team environment.
- Participate in, lead or support projects related to R&D and business activities.
- Create/maintain product designs and costs; generate product data sheets/drawings.
- Review customer/industry specifications to determine capability of the Prysmian group facilities to meet the requirements.
- Utilize the in-house cable design tools (Cable Builder and/or Common Analisi) to create BOMs and routings for manufacturing of Prysmian Group products at its facilities.
- Support annual efforts to review scrap, labor, auxiliary coefficients, and other parameters to ensure system costs reflect actual operating conditions.
- Support corporate reporting requirements with regards to taxonomy, sustainable sales, and other metrics as required by the business.
- Utilize in-house ERP systems (HFA/SAP) to review and maintain material master data.
- Develop and analyze costs for quotations/production. Develop benchmarking analysis when requested for comparisons between facilities.
- Interact with Commercial and Manufacturing personnel to process requests in line with service level agreements.
- Maintain in Design system(s) all process guidelines (such as TI's, SOP's, and FOD's) with all current prescribed changes and ensure strict adherence for design requirement.
- Maintain ownership of the full engineering change notice (ECN) and deviation processes (TDCA) for the business unit's plants.
- Evaluate and propose innovative ideas for new products and product enhancements.
- Provide ideas/track Design to Cost projects supporting R&D's KPI's.
- Act constructively as a team player on technical teams supporting special projects to improve production efficiencies, continuous improvement, and product and process development.
- Assist the broader R&D team with design systems support for process and product development.
- Maintain strong operating knowledge of appropriate industry standards including ICEA, UL, and CSA among other certification listings.
- Prepare design documentation for factory level experimental trials/product development concerning new compound implementation, technology transfer and other product development efforts.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Engineering in a related field.
- 5 or more years of Design, Process or other related work.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- 5 or more years of industrial experience.
- Mechanical or Electrical degree preferred
- Managerial experience.
- Two to four years of product engineering experience in wire and cable products.
- Knowledge of Wire and Cable manufacturing and design.
- Foreign languages a plus
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Works out of a normal office environment with standard office equipment available.
- Will be required to sit, bend, kneel, squat, use keyboard, read, write, and speak fluently.
- Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 10-30 pounds as needed.
- Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, highly pressured environment and be able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crisis.
- This role is not typically exposed to adverse environmental conditions, except excessive eye strain and possible lifting injuries
- When travel is necessary, will be exposed to typical travel environment and surroundings.
