Overview

This is a year-round position located in Everett, WA.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Designer (Electrical)

\n
• Perform ship checks to support DDG design development.
\n
• Development of ship alteration drawings for repair/alteration of ships in the fleet.
\n

\n
Designer (Electrical) /On-Site Rep (OSR)

\n
• Acting in a liaison capacity supporting the local PMR, RMC, and their Installing Agents (IA) with the installation of maintenance and/or modernization alterations during the ships scheduled CNO availabilities.
\n
• Support emergent waterfront issues and interface directly with the customer on the waterfront, Ship's Force, and GDBIW engineers/designers in Maine.
\n

Responsibilities

\n
• High School Diploma / GED required.
\n
• Associates / Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred.
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools required.
\n

Qualifications

1st Class ($36.02/Hr - $42.68/Hr - Includes Cost of Living Adjustment) :

\n
• Minimum of seven (7) years design experience, OR
\n
• Bachelors degree with (2) years Design experience, OR
\n
• Associate/Vocational School degree with four (4) years design experience required.
\n
• Credit may be given for graphic arts or computer information systems experience.
\n

\n
2nd Class: ($32.05/Hr. - $34.57/Hr - Includes Cost of Living Adjustment):

\n
• Minimum of four (4) years design experience, OR
\n
• Bachelors degree in a related technical field (Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture), OR
\n
• Associate/Vocational School degree with two (2) years design experience required.
\n
• 3D CAD or AutoCAD proficiency.
\n
• Credit may be given for graphic arts or computer information systems experience.
\n

\n

\n
• Ability to interpret and follow technical procedures, standards, and work instructions required.
\n
• Marine design/liaison experience may be required.
\n
• Design background with multi-discipline experience preferred.
\n
• Proficiency in developing design in Auto-CAD.
\n
• Knowledge of DDG Class ships and shipboard systems.
\n
• Proficiency in moderate to complex development work, problem solving and the review/check of another employee's work may be required.
\n
• Must have strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with little oversight.
\n
• Ability to represent Bath Iron Works autonomously and in a professional manner.
\n

• This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance if you do not already have one. You must be a US Citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire. • This job requires visiting ships on a regular basis and working in an industrial environment. This will require some climbing, kneeling, bending, carrying a back pack and occasionally needing to squeeze in between cabinets and into tight spaces.
