Desktop Engineering Specialist L3 (Intune/SCCM Administration, and O365)
Location: Greensboro, NC (Hybrid of minimum of 3 days/week onsite with possibly 1-2 days remote will vary depending on needs)

Contract Duration February 2024 March 31, 2025 This Client Engineering Specializt will be the most senior member of the desktop team supporting a 1000+ end user international organization and is responsible for providing Tier 3 support, end-user platform engineering, desktop engineering and configuration management. Duties will include the following:

  • Design, install, and maintain customer Windows-based architecture environments using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Endpoint Manager (Intune) while managing full lifecycle approach to end user computing applications provided to our customers.
  • Participate with both the long-term strategic planning for customers as well as the day-to-day requirements to maintain a stable, productive, and secure environment.
  • Create and deploy custom configurations and applications.
  • Create and deploy custom configurations and applications.
  • Perform OS and application packaging.
  • Utilize ITSM methodologies and software to provide incident and change management.
  • Manage licenses and assets.
  • Develop and evolve SOPs for desktop and software management.
  • Custom reporting and dashboard creation within UEM tools to include PowerBI.
  • Deployment compliance evaluation and stakeholder reporting.
  • Regular collaboration with IT support peers and IT executives.
  • Escalation and collaboration with application support vendors.
  • Image Management: endpoint (PC and Server) operating system build, customizations (task sequence), and deployment.
  • Operating system version upgrade provisioning and deployment.
  • ITIL foundations use ITSM tools to include inventory, incident, request, problem, change and release management activities.
  • Regular use of PowerShell scripting.
  • Testing and distribution of authorized patches.

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • Over five years of IT experience with over two years in client desktop engineering.
  • Strong experience working with Client Engineering including the following:
    • Performing Intune/SCCM Admnistration
    • Supporting Windows, MS 365 and Active Directory support and Troublehshooting.
  • Strong experience in Client Engineering (Intune/SCCM Administration, and O365 experience)
  • Skilled in performing application packaging and deployment within targeting UEM applications such as MS Endpoint Configuration Manager, and Intune.
  • Windows 10 deployment experience.
  • Ability to write automation skills using PowerShell.
  • 3 years Windows Desktop OS administration experience with extended knowledge of Windows 10
  • Windows 10/11 troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019 interface and management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Group Policy Objects and Group Policy Preferences
  • Strong writing skills for client facing documentation and executive-level communications
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Skilled in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form
  • Experience with Microsoft cloud licensing; Microsoft 365 E3 and E5, EM+S, Intune, or Office 365 E3 is a plus
