Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer with Networking Experience
Location: Onsite - (Oak Harbor Ohio, Perry Ohio, & Beaver valley shipping port, Pennsylvania)
Contract: C2C
Experience: 8+ Years
Note: Typically, a windows support Engineer with administration and networking experience and Bit bar.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer with strong networking knowledge to provide end-user support, maintain IT infrastructure, and ensure seamless operation of desktop systems and network connectivity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues while delivering excellent technical support to users.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 desktop support for Windows/macOS systems, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and endpoint security tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and OS-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues related to LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Perform network cable troubleshooting, switch port configuration, and basic router/switch support.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies using Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Support email systems (Outlook, Microsoft 365) and collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom).
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding by setting up user accounts, devices, and access rights.
  • Monitor and respond to IT tickets using service management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Freshservice, etc.).
  • Maintain documentation for IT procedures, network diagrams, and asset inventory.
  • Coordinate with network, server, and security teams for escalated issues.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 3 7 years of experience in Desktop Support / IT Support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, macOS, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Hands-on experience with networking concepts: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and basic Azure AD administration.
  • Familiarity with network devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based environments and endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM).
  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity practices and endpoint protection tools
