Position: Desktop Support Technician
Duration: 06 Months
Location: Providence, RI
Position Overview:
- The Technical Support Engineer I is a contracted role responsible for providing front-line technical support to the Office s end users and systems. This includes configuration, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of hardware, software, and user accounts.
- The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency, security, and stability of the Attorney General s technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and implement fixes/workarounds for PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Provide high-level customer service and timely response to help desk requests.
- Create, modify, and delete user accounts based on access requests.
- Coordinate with state agencies for hardware/software servicing and repair.
- Provide remote support to users, including off-hours support when necessary.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and browser issues (e.g., IE, Chrome, Firefox) related to web-based applications.
- Manage software deployment, including PC imaging and software distribution.
- Maintain and monitor both cloud-based and on-premise applications and tools.
- Perform data and email archiving activities.
- Maintain inventory logs and report on equipment and support schedules.
- Participate in on-call and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
- Network and Operating System certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) strongly preferred.
- Proven technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain composed under pressure.
- Experience with imaging, software deployment, and account management.
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems and remote support tools.
Compensation
Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, BeaconGov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
