DevOps Engineer / Developer

Duration: Permanent

Hybrid: 3 Days in Office, 2 Days Remote

Salary: Depending on Experience ($115,000 - $135,000) - will pay more the ideal person

As a (an) DevOps your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to:

Our client - cutting-edge research in Life Sciences and Clinical Diagnostics and all its brands, provides tools for researchers to further treat and prevent disease worldwide.

Position Summary:

You will help drive direction as we move to new technology for networking, cloud architecture, automation, and development. The role requires you to have a solid understanding of the previous areas but does not require you to be an expert. The role will be actively engaged in trouble shooting issues and will be called upon when the solution is unknown. You will be working closely with teams and experts to fulfill the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• The engineer will participate regularly in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation of global technology platforms.
• Ensure the design of system allows full functionality of all components and follows sound IT architectural best practice and principles.
• Maintain network and system security
• Evaluate and respond to system performance logs and alerts
• Take part in mergers and acquisitions and assist with integrations or additions to the company network.
• Possess sound management and supervisory skills.
• Has the ability to work within strict guidelines specified and in respect to Sarbanes Oxley financial and GDPR data remits.
• Conduct proactive capacity planning, performance monitoring, configuration tuning and technology refresh.
• Create and maintain our cloud platform in Microsoft Azure
• Maintain and build monitoring solutions using tool such as New Relic or Splunk
• Create and maintain build/release pipelines via Azure DevOps
• Willingness to learn new technologies, new tools, new languages

Education and Experience:

• Position requires a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent and 5 7 years of related experience.
• Current certifications in networking and cloud platforms is preferred.
• Experience working in a broader enterprise or cross divisional business unit model would be preferred.
• Must be able to work in an ever changing fast paced environment, be able to balance multiple projects, and have good verbal and written communication skills and be confident in their approach.
• Must be able to clearly document ideas in non-technical terms and present ideas, concepts and plans to upper management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Clear understanding of containers and cloud architectures
• Experience in Azure DevOps, including Project Administration, Build and Release Pipelines, GIT administration
• Experience with monitoring systems - New Relic, Azure Monitor, Splunk
• Infrastructure as code experience in tools such as terraform and ARM templates
• Experience building and optimizing deployment pipelines and architectures.
• System administration experience in both windows and Linux
• Experience in c#, python, node.js, php or PowerShell
• Manage network routing protocols and tables, as well as network address assignment and subnets.
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of SQL database administration including writing and execution of scripts and backup processes.
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with cloud data management: Azure SQL Server Analysis Services, Azure Data Warehouse, Data Factories, and Data Lakes
• Sound understanding of SaaS Software as a Solution applications such as Okta, Egnyte, O365 and Azure.

Manage Active Directory environment including all forests, domains, objects, trusts, integrations, performance, authentication, authorization, replication, and redundancy.
