Position Overview

Clarity Innovations is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure and automation pipelines that support high-impact mission systems. You will work independently on complex projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical decisions and improve reliability, security, and delivery speed across environments.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Engineering

• Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and modern DevSecOps practices.
  
  
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows in cloud-native environments.
  
  
• Lead system troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning efforts.
  
  

Automation & Tooling

• Build and maintain automation frameworks and developer self-service tools.
  
  
• Drive adoption of secure automation practices and support compliance, logging, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  
  
• Create observability solutions using monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
  
  

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Collaborate with software engineers to optimize application deployments for resilience and scalability.
  
  
• Participate in architecture discussions and influence technical direction across the DevSecOps landscape.
  
  
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
  
  

Software & Process Development

• Contribute to back-end or front-end development efforts as needed for automation or tooling.
  
  
• Document infrastructure designs, processes, and lessons learned in shared knowledge bases (e.g., Confluence).
  
  
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 2 -3 years of experience in DevSecOps, site reliability, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
  
  
• Deep understanding of Linux/Unix systems, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and core networking concepts.
  
  
• Proficiency with Git-based version control and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
  
  
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Golang, Node.js, or Python.
  
  
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; adaptable in learning new technologies.
  
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  
  
• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance or higher.
  
  
• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  
  
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  
  
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and best practices for observability.
  
  

Based in or willing to relocate to San Antonio, TX.
