Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer will work with our Cloud Infrastructure team to design, deploy, and maintain robust, scalable infrastructure solutions to support SAP products and services. The team emphasizes automation-first practices, deploying all cloud resources via Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Engineers will work across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and collaborate with internal product teams and customer-facing units to deliver provider-agnostic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, modify, and deploy Terraform code; debug errors across multiple cloud providers
• Execute and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks to manage customer infrastructure
• Use GitLab repositories to maintain infrastructure code and submit merge requests for changes
• Configure, build, and deploy containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues using traffic flow data between customer and hosted environments
• Produce and maintain technical documentation on network and system design and governance
• Develop SOPs, knowledge base articles, technical bulletins, and other supporting documentation
• Operate in a security-first mindset in all tasks
• Implement monitoring, configuration management, and logging for multi-tenant cloud infrastructure
• Utilize generative AI tools where practical to improve efficiency, accuracy, and security

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) and least privilege concepts
• AWS foundational technologies: EC2, S3, IAM, Route53, VPC
• Azure foundational technologies: Virtual Networks, Application Gateway, Storage Account, VMs, Load Balancer, Resource Groups
• Google Cloud Platform foundational technologies: Projects, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC
• Proficiency in Terraform for building modules across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
• Proficiency in CI/CD technologies
• Scripting or programming for automation (Python, Bash)
• RBAC design and provisioning for users
• Logging and log processing in cloud environments
• Networking fundamentals: IP routing, subnetting, network troubleshooting
• Strong Linux OS skills: deployment, configuration, troubleshooting
• Experience with ServiceNow

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 5 8+ years of hands-on experience with Python, Terraform, Ansible, Concourse CI/CD, Vault, and Identity Management
• Experience with Unix/Linux OS internals and administration (filesystems, inodes, system calls, hardening)
• Networking experience: TCP/IP, routing, DNS, network topologies, SDN

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks
• Systematic problem-solving approach with strong communication skills, sense of ownership, and drive
