DevOps Engineer
The location is NYC, hybrid.
Job purpose
Client is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the DevOps Engineer position in our Infrastructure team within our Product Design and Development division. The DevOps Engineer position plays a key role with infrastructure and application developers to design, create and manage solutions for deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and application code, and with operations staff to ensure systems and process optimization and availability. To be successful in this role, a DevOps engineer must have a deep understanding of infrastructure, development and operations processes, as well as a strong technical background.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Takes responsibility for managing the design, installation, upgrades, operation control, maintenance and effective use of Windows and Linux Operating Systems and Infrastructure technology and services
- Proficient with CI/CD Tools and Container technologies and processes Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, git, GitHub and Bitbucket
- Manage and support solutions for all CI/CD processes and automation
- Experience in Agile methodologies and practices using Jira.
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools
- Automation or Orchestration tools management, administration and support - Ansible Tower, Terraform*
- Strong in scripting in Python and at least one additional language - Shell, PowerShell, Perl
- Ability to work across a variety of environments and platforms, have excellent follow-up skills and an ability to provide detailed documentation
- Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Experience working with AWS cloud technologies
- Work directly with software developers and project managers to test system integrity
- Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration managementautomation
- Troubleshoot, test and optimize implemented designsand process workflows for provisioning, configuration management and operations including Disaster Recovery
- Handle code deployments in all environments on AWS and on premises
- Monitor performance and execution metrics and develop continuous process improvements
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years experience as a DevOps Engineer
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited university or college in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
