What does this role look like?
We are seeking a highly motivated DevSecOps Engineer to support secure software development efforts on mission-critical programs. The successful candidate will be excited about incorporating new and emerging technologies into the software development lifecycle while maintaining robust, compliant development infrastructure that meets stringent customer specifications.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of development, security, and operations-embedding security into CI/CD pipelines, supporting cloud-native and containerized environments, and performing select system administration functions to ensure reliable and secure development workflows. Strong documentation skills are essential, as this position supports programs with rigorous security, compliance, and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain secure DevSecOps pipelines to support software development and delivery
Integrate security controls, automated testing, and compliance checks into CI/CD workflows
Support containerized and cloud-based development environments using Kubernetes
Perform system administration functions in support of development infrastructure and toolchains
Collaborate closely with software developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity teams
Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security evaluations of development environments
Automate infrastructure and security processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance
Ensure DevSecOps practices align with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards
Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, procedures, and artifacts to support audits and program reviews

Basic Qualifications
Active Top Secret security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Experience with pipeline automation in secure environments
Demonstrated hands-on experience with GitLab and Kubernetes
Proficiency in coding, scripting, and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar)
Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of security principles, risk management, and secure software development practices
Ability to support and maintain development infrastructure in compliance with customer specifications
Desired skills
Experience with additional automation and orchestration technologies, including:
Ansible
Helm
Argo CD
Terraform
Kubernetes volume provisioning solutions (e.g., Rook)
Familiarity with cloud technologies and container orchestration in classified environments
Experience with automated security testing tools and vulnerability scanning
Knowledge of compliance frameworks, governance requirements, and regulatory standards related to information security
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and mitigate risk
Excellent collaboration and communication skills across development, operations, and security teams

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
