Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Devops Engineer

Position type: Full-time Contract

Duration: 12 Months plus

Location: Hybrid Available locations:

  • New York City - midtown
  • Jersey City, NJ

No Corp to Corp. W2 contractors only please.

As a Devops Engineer, you will:

Weekend support once every 3-4 weeks
Their environment is hardware / server based not cloud (not looking for folks with AWS/cloud experience)
600 plus linux servers
Low latency trading environment
Red Hat OS administration experience important

Automate s/w builds and deployments. Responsible for assisting development teams in promoting, building and staging s/w and debugging build errors. Assist and train developers in CM processes. Set up and document infrastructure, processes and workflows. Building out virtualized computing environment. Scheduling of system processes and jobs based on business calendar and timetable. Set up and manage system monitor and alerts. Participate in Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning exercises and activities (testing, creating/updating DR BCP processes and procedures).


Function of Role:
Responsible for assisting development teams in promoting, building and staging software and debugging build errors using Ansible Tower.
Require update and mange Ansible Tower templates and playbook.
Migrate current build process to standard automate CI/CD software builds and deployments.
Assist and train developers leverage standard DevOps deployment processes.
Set up and document infrastructure, processes and workflows.
Building out virtualized computing and physical server environment to replace outdate technology.
Scheduling of system processes and jobs based on business calendar and timetable. Set up and manage system monitor and alerts. Participate in Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning exercises and activities (testing, creating/updating DR BCP processes and procedures).
Create, maintain and execute test scripts; ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements;
Conduct all types of application testing as needed, such as integration, system, regression, new functionality and performance testing.
Work with appropriate technology team members to determine the acceptable range for test results and performance.
Discover, track and verify defects ensuring that they are prioritized, scheduled, and communicated to development in a timely fashion.
Administer/configure test environment resources to ensure that the environment is adequate for testing.
Computer languages (Shell bash/ksh, Python, YAML, Java, C++, Powershell, SQL, and HTML5), Virtualization (VMware Horizon), Automation: Ansible, JENKINS, Network / System administration in Linux (RHEL7/RHEL8/RHEL9), and Windows 2016.
Experience with SDM, Agile, test and test data automation, and Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
Experience with firewall / application proxy connectivity testing is big plus
Hands on testing experience on electronic application is big plus
Experience with Relational Databases and SQL
Good verbal and written communication skills. Middleware experience extremely helpful (Tibco RV, IBM MQ, SonicMQ)
Produce clear and accurate defect reports detailing software and functional issues based on testing results.
Willing to learn and share the FIT knowledge and working experience

Pay Range*: $70- $74 per hour on W2

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
