Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Director, Software Engineer in New York, NY

Work closely with business analysts and product owners to gather and document requirements. Architect, design, and develop software in the deposits space for both brokered and retail banking. Develop, test, and deploy complex applications needed by the Private Banking Group. Develop and automate robust testing strategies for banking applications to ensure quality of deliverables in production environment. Participate in developing innovative proposals and solutions that can help the business gain efficiency and reduce risk. Develop user facing interfaces for banking operations team to perform various business activities like reporting, account management and product management. Convert legacy monolithic apps into microservice based architecture by following 12 factor design principle. Make use of frameworks and technologies to support large scale financial volume. Migrate applications to cloud infrastructure to reduce legacy infrastructure footprint. Interface and enhance platform code to reduce overall tech debt. Develop processes for automated CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools. Provide monitoring and support for software applications in production and non-production environments. Conduct performance tuning and enhance applications to adhere to large scale financial volume processing capabilities. Work on Software development life cycle following Agile methodology and mission-based fleets. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $141,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as a Technology Analyst, Technology Associate, Software Developer, or a closely related occupation.
