Compensation: $175,000-$200,000 base + 15% bonus

Our client is a fast-scaling global life sciences organization of approximately 150 employees, pioneering digital transformation in the clinical research and healthcare technology sectors. The company is investing heavily in IT and security as it enters its next stage of growth and seeks a Director, Information & Security Officer to define and lead the global technology and security strategy.
Position Overview
This is the most senior technology and security role in the organization, reporting directly to the CFO and engaging regularly with the executive team and Board. The Director will lead a growing team of six, with scope to expand, and will play a critical role in shaping the company's IT, security, and compliance posture across a highly regulated global environment.
The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution, capable of setting a long-term vision while remaining involved in the design and delivery of enterprise security programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the organization's global IT and information security strategy.
- Lead and develop a high-performing IT and security team (currently six members).
- Oversee enterprise security frameworks, incident response, and audit readiness.
- Align IT and security programs to regulatory frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and 21 CFR Part 11.
- Partner with executive leadership to ensure technology supports business growth, compliance, and innovation.
- Build and maintain executive and Board-level confidence in the company's security resilience.
- Drive modernization initiatives across cloud infrastructure (Azure, Microsoft 365, Azure AD).
- Serve as a key stakeholder for upcoming expansion, regulatory milestones, and M&A activity.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT and information security leadership roles.
- Proven success managing teams of 5-8 or more within regulated industries (healthcare, life sciences, or related).
- Strong understanding of cloud-first environments, preferably Microsoft Azure ecosystems.
- Deep familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Ability to balance strategy and execution-comfortable operating both at the Board level and in hands-on technical delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics into business terms.
