Job Description
Position Summary:
The Director of IT Infrastructure is a key leadership role responsible for the strategy, operation, and continuous improvement of the organization s technology infrastructure. Reporting directly to the VP of IT, this individual will oversee critical areas including service desk operations, data center infrastructure, enterprise IT security, end-user computing, Microsoft 365 administration, business continuity and disaster recovery, and core systems such as networking, databases, and telecommunications.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring technology supports the organization's mission to deliver equitable, reliable healthcare services to our communities.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and leadership for:
o Service Desk and End User Support
o End-User Devices (laptops, mobile devices)
o Audio/Visual Technologies for meetings and collaboration
o Microsoft 365 Applications, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint
o Data Center Operations and server/storage infrastructure
o Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
o Enterprise IT Security and risk mitigation programs
o Telecommunications, including voice/data services
o Database Administration and performance optimization
o Network Infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless, VPNs)
o Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Active Directory (AD)
Lead a team of IT professionals and vendors, fostering a culture of service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain an infrastructure roadmap aligned with business needs, organizational growth, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
Collaborate with peers across IT, Operations, Compliance, and Clinical teams to deliver reliable, secure, and user-centered technology services.
Oversee and continuously improve IT service delivery processes (e.g., ITIL framework).
Manage contracts and vendor relationships to ensure performance, cost-efficiency, and alignment with strategic goals.
Monitor system health and performance, ensuring uptime, capacity, and security meet or exceed established SLAs.
Prepare and manage departmental budget, aligning resources with strategic priorities and organizational values.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master s degree preferred).
10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in an IT infrastructure leadership role.
Proven experience managing enterprise IT environments including networks, servers, cloud services, security, and Microsoft 365.
Strong understanding of healthcare IT environments, compliance (e.g., HIPAA), and business continuity practices.
Experience working in a non-profit or mission-driven organization is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft or CISSP are a plus
