The Director of IT and Informatics at the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics (CBG) is
responsible for guiding overseeing the Informatics Unit (>$1M operating budget) and guiding the
Taxonomy and Analytics Units (>$0.5M combined operating budget). annual
This key role encompasses shaping the Centre's informatics strategy overall IT operations.
This director plays a significant role in the research community, serving as a steward of community data, advocate for standardization, and provider of critical services.
The Director designs and manages the Centre's IT infrastructure and architecture, which includes
server hardware and sophisticated web platforms, representing an investment of over $20 million to
date.
The Director oversees 30 staff across the three units (20 Informatics, 6 Taxonomy, and 4 Analytics) with the support of four team leaders and two Associate Directors, and reports directly to the CEO.
The Director's responsibilities extend to the contribution of informatics elements of CBG's scientific mission and leadership in various IT domains, such as data stewardship, cybersecurity, IT governance, infrastructure, budgeting, and research readiness.

Certification in Project Management, Software Development Life-Cycle, or Information
Technology Infrastructure Library is preferred.
