Title: Director of Preconstruction - Electrical Contracting
Salary: $165k-$200k DOE
Location: Denver, CO
Requirements: 7+ years in Electrical Estimating 5+ years in Preconstruction Leadership role, CO Journeyman Electrical License, BS/BA in Construction Management or (Engineering preferred)
Position Overview
The Director of Preconstruction for Electrical Contracting will oversee the preconstruction phase of electrical projects, ensuring that all estimates, designs, and plans are aligned with client expectations and project specifications. This role is critical in leading the preconstruction team and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver accurate and competitive bids while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preconstruction team in the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for electrical contracting projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define project scope and requirements.
- Review and analyze architectural and engineering drawings to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations during the preconstruction phase.
- Manage risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues prior to project commencement.
- Facilitate client meetings to discuss project proposals, timelines, and budget expectations.
- Oversee the development of project schedules and resource allocation plans during preconstruction.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the preconstruction team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 7+ years of experience in electrical contracting/Estimating
- 5+ years in a preconstruction leadership role.
- Current Journeyman License in Electrical Contracting.
- Proven experience in electrical estimating and bid preparation.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, contract negotiation, and scheduling processes.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations specific to electrical work.
- Excellent client relations and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and value engineering practices.
