Job Description:

Implement automated Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to develop repeatable infrastructure templates to deploy for enabling disaster recovery capabilities. Partner will focus on Oracle database portion of the Disaster Recovery Solution. Partner will Test the proposed DR solution. Partner will create and develop documentation and SOPS for the DR DB solution.

Scope Description: Seeking a consultant (32-40hours/week) to support a customer with the following efforts:

Disaster Recovery Specialist Role Description AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) Implementation:

  1. Design and implement AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery solutions with automated failover capabilities

  2. Configure DRS agents and replication settings for optimal performance and minimal RPO

  3. Develop Infrastructure-as-Code templates for DRS deployment and management using Terraform/CloudFormation

  4. Automate operating system configurations to meet disaster recovery requirements including network, storage, and security settings

  5. Develop automation to create reporting dashboards (using AWS CloudWatch service) to monitor replication health


ERP Workload DR Specialization:

  1. Implement DR strategies specifically tailored for ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, etc.) with understanding of consistency requirements

  2. Configure application-aware replication for ERP environments ensuring data integrity during failover

  3. Design DR architectures optimized for ERP dependencies and performance requirements


Automation and Monitoring:

  1. Develop automated monitoring solutions for DRS replication health, lag detection, and failure alerting

  2. Create custom dashboards and reports for replication status, RPO/RTO metrics, and system readiness

  3. Implement automated testing procedures for DR failover validation without impacting production

  4. Build notification systems for replication slowness, failures, and recovery point deviations


DR Strategy Implementation:

  1. Define and implement comprehensive DR strategy supporting identified customer systems with focus on:

  2. Recovery Point Objective (RPO) near zero using AWS DRS continuous replication

  3. Recovery Time Objective (RTO) of 24 hours for full production environment recovery

  4. Automated synchronization procedures maintaining DR environment readiness

  5. Automation of post launch activities to bring applications to the required state of readiness

  • Conduct DR testing with automated rollback capabilities and performance validation


    Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:

    1. Develop customer-specific documentation including:

    2. AWS DRS Infrastructure as Code templates

    3. ERP application DR runbooks with automated procedures

    4. Architecture diagrams showing DRS configuration and replication scenarios

    5. Disaster recovery procedures with automated failover scripts

    6. Monitoring and alerting configuration guides


    Operational Support:

    1. Provide operational support for non-production DR environments

    2. Analyze DRS performance metrics and provide AWS best practice recommendations

    3. Optimize replication bandwidth, storage costs, and recovery performance for DRS enabled workloads

    4. Provide execution support for DR testing and connectivity to DR systems.

    Salary Range: $170-200K (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
