We're seeking an experienced Controls Engineer/Technician to support and maintain automated manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, motors, and control systems
- Maintain and support automation and electrical equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime
- Support equipment installations, startups, and upgrades
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Partner closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams
What You Bring
- High School diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology or equivalent hands-on experience
- AIB Engineering Certificate preferred
- 3-5 years of plant maintenance or engineering experience, including supervisory exposure
- Strong working knowledge of:
- HVAC and Refrigeration systems
- Electrical and electronic equipment repair
- Welding and industrial equipment installation/startup
- Experience troubleshooting PLC/HMI-based automation systems
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred
- Ability to work 2nd Shift (2 PM - 10 PM) reliably
Licenses & Physical Requirements
- Required state, city, or county licenses (boiler, refrigeration, etc.) as applicable
- May be required to maintain certification to operate heavy equipment, including forklifts
- Ability to:
- Distinguish color-coded equipment and wiring
- Hear and identify audible alarms
- Visually assess normal vs. abnormal equipment conditions
- Work in environments up to 100F
