Electrical Controls Engineer
Location: Richmond, Indiana

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Controls Engineer to support manufacturing operations at our Richmond, IN facility. This role will be a mix of 50% troubleshooting ( firefighting ) and 50% project work, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, electrical systems, and control networked systems. The ideal candidate will have strong Allen-Bradley PLC, industrial networking, and SCADA/DCS experience.
Key Responsibilities
Perform power, electrical, and control systems engineering for plant projects and operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues to minimize downtime.
Lead or participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Provide on-call support to plant operations as needed.
Prepare and review technical electrical specifications for equipment, processes, and projects.
Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives for electrical systems.
Drive process control improvements, including water and compressed air systems.
Assist with the implementation of corporate specifications and standards.
Track and prioritize issues in collaboration with cross-functional departments.
Support manufacturing operations and electrical safety initiatives.
Communicate project status, issues, and changes to management and stakeholders.
Provide backup support to other Electrical Engineers as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
3+ years of experience in a control systems or discrete manufacturing environment.
Strong hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI applications, including programming.
Experience with industrial control networks (DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP).
Knowledge of DCS/SCADA systems (Ignition, Wonderware preferred).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
Familiarity with NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Standards (arc flash & shock hazards).
Proven ability to manage 1 3 simultaneous projects.
Experience managing projects ranging from $50K $200K.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel up to 10%.
