Overview
Electric Boat is experiencing a period of unprecedented growth, with existing facilities undergoing renovations and new buildings under construction with more to come. Now is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team responsible for shaping the future of the shipyard.
The Quonset Point Facilities Engineering department is seeking an electrical engineer to provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for the Quonset Point facility and local sites, as well as designing and executing infrastructure construction projects.
Responsibilities for project management include engineering and developing the scope of work, preparing bid documents, vendor selection, securing funding, preparing purchase requisitions, in field project management of vendors and EB personnel, in addition to performing electrical assessments. This position will also include a connection to the EB Critical Facilities Oversight group, and will encompass reporting and governance for the Quonset Point facility.
Candidate should be familiar with electrical distribution systems up to 35KV, including substations, switchgears, transformers and underground duct banks. Knowledge of fire alarm systems as well as of state and local building codes is desired. Past experience with building automation systems is a plus.
Candidate will interface with local city building officials as well as Naval oversight. Candidate must be self-motivating, be able to work independently, possess good written and oral communications skills, maintain a questioning attitude, as well as be proficient technically with a willingness to continuously learn.
Candidate must maintain the highest Safety standards, preferably with an existing OSHA Certification. Candidate must be available to work overtime including emergent situations, extended hours and weekends, and during severe weather events when required.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science or Higher in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 2 - 5 years of experience with electrical power
Preferred:
- RI Master Electrician License preferred
