Job Details

We are currently looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Build Technician to join our team with one of our clients. I would like to tell you a bit more about this position and learn a few things about you, as well.   

 

Title: Electro-Mechanical Build Technician

Location: San Diego, CA (Onsite Role)

Full Time position

 

 

Key Duties:

  • Construct deliverable sensor systems by assembling mechanical components, soldering electronic elements, and applying coatings to printed circuit boards.
  • Execute final machining, cutting, or bonding operations on components such as sensor housings, sense elements, and fine wires.
  • Assemble wiring harnesses, terminate connectors, and integrate electronic components into tailor-made enclosures.
  • Test sensors and printed circuit boards using electrical test equipment and LabVIEW-based software scripts.
  • Actively engage in inventory management, including quarterly inventory checks.
  • Perform final assembly of sensor systems onto customer driveshafts, ensuring integrity and certifying system fitness for homologation.
  • Participate in failure analyses by dissecting and analyzing returned hardware, conducting diagnostic and validation testing, and compiling detailed reports.

 

Qualifications: Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in a related role.
  • Diligence, craftsmanship, and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Proficient electrical and mechanical assembly skills.
  • Familiarity with wiring harness assembly protocols, adhesives, soldering, and machine shop skills.
  • Competence in LabVIEW or equivalent software.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of sensor or instrumentation calibration protocols.
  • Education:
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree in machining, mechanical technology, electronics, or automotive technology.
  • Consideration for candidates without a degree but with substantial relevant experience.
