This is an onsite role in Bells Fort Worth, TX headquarters or Bell's Huntsville, AL faciliy.
Embedded Software Engineering Team, MV-75 Aircraft
Bring your ideas and expertise to help deliver the world's next-generation military aircraft. You'll develop software applications for the MV-75 team, creating advanced avionics solutions for an Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) system with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) principles.
This role is a part of the team, working closely with engineers to design, model, and manage software throughout the Formal DO-178c Software Development Lifecycle.
You'll tackle complex technical challenges, all while sharpening your engineering skills and growing your experience in collaboration and leadership.
What you'll be doing as an MV-75 Software Engineer:
Develop air vehicle Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) software applications to support advanced aerospace systems.
Define and implement both high-level and low-level software requirements to ensure compliance with program objectives.
Model software architecture and design using SysML/CAMEO for clarity, scalability, and integration.
Perform configuration management to maintain version control and traceability throughout the software lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components and support testing and validation activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
What you need to be successful:
Bachelor's Degree with a major in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required. Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering degrees may be considered equivalent. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
At least 2+ years of work experience in developing embedded software, including hardware and software integration. Aviation experience is preferred.
C/C++ programming experience in a Linux development environment required
Able to gain US Govt Clearance
Skilled at using Git version control or other change management systems and capable of prioritizing development tasks effectively
Familiarity in software DevSecOps processes preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative team mindset
Excellent communicator, able to brief management, customers, and large groups while building effective relationships across teams and stakeholders
